Samsung launches touch-screen phone with Android 2.1

The 3.2-inch display of the Galaxy 3 I5800 dissolved with 240 by 400 pixels. Facilities include WLAN, HSDPA, GPS, Bluetooth and a 3.2-megapixel camera. The quad-band phone will be available in late July for 299 € without contract.

Samsung has expanded its mobile portfolio with the touch-screen model I5800 Galaxy 3. The operating system Android is 2.1 with many pre-installed Google services such as Voice Search, Maps, Mail, Talk, and YouTube. Additional applications can be downloaded from the Android Market or Samsung’s own marketplace download.

The capacitive touch screen of the 3.2-inch quad-band device dissolves with 240 times 400 pixels with 16 million colors. The 170 MB of internal memory can be expanded using MicroSD card up to 32 GB. The user interface "TouchWiz 3.0" should allow quick access to applications such as camera, radio, or games.

The integrated 3.2-megapixel camera provides a geo-tagging function and Smile and face detection. Videos she takes 15 pictures per second at a resolution of 320 by 240 pixels. Other features include WiFi 802.11b/g/n after, UMTS with HSDPA (up to 3.6 Mbps), Bluetooth 2.1 with stereo audio streaming, DivX-enabled media player and FM radio with RDS.
