University of Antwerp builds desktop supercomputer
The calculator has an output of 12 teraflops dell inspiron b130 battery. It is equipped with seven Nvidia graphics cards. In addition, the device has 12 GB of RAM and four power supplies with a total output of 2850 watts.
Researchers at the Vision Lab of the University of Antwerp, have built a desktop supercomputer for less than 6000 €. The scientists named the device “Fastra II” to create three-dimensional images on a computer tomography. The supercomputer achieved with 13 GPUs to seven cards a performance of 12 teraflops dell inspiron e1405 battery.
The facilities include one of the Fastra II Asus Mainbard ‘P6T7 WAS supercomputer “with seven PCI-Express interfaces, an Intel Core i7 processor 920, and a total of 12 GB of memory. In addition, a 1 TB hard drive and four large power supplies are built with a total output of 2850 watts dell inspiron e1505 battery.
Researchers at the University of Antwerp in their use supercomputer six Nvidia GTX295 graphics cards of the type with two cores and a Nvidia GTX275, which has a GPU. Serves as the operating system CentOS 5.3 with a specially modified Linux kernel dell inspiron e1705 battery.
Last year, the scientists had presented the Fastra its first desktop supercomputer. The computer was equipped with an AMD Phenom processor, 8 gigabytes of memory and four Nvidia 9800GX2 graphics cards. He achieved an output of 4 teraflops and cost almost 4000 €.
